Del Mar Real Estate
San Diego's "Golden North Coast" begins at La Jolla Cove and continues north via Torrey Pines, to Del Mar, and into Solana Beach, Cardiff by the Sea, Encinitas, La Costa, Carlsbad and Oceanside. Pacific Coast Highway 1 (PCH) passes through all of these unique beachside communities, often providing striking views of the beaches. Just three miles inland from Del Mar is the famed Rancho Santa Fe with several luxury home communities such as Fairbanks Ranch, The Bridges, The Crosby, Cielo and the adjacent communities of Santaluz, Del Mar Mesa and The Meadows Del Mar. About 4,400 Del Mar residents enjoy the amenities of a small-town without forfeiting any of the big-city opportunities.
Del Mar is centered around a "small town" village with a beautiful ocean front park. It has a small town feel, and provides all of the amenities a person could desire. There are unbelievable expanses of local beach where surfing, body-boarding, swimming, dog walking and jogging are all popular pastimes. Beyond the beach, Del Mar and its surrounding areas offer varied opportunities such as the Birch Aquarium, a daily ferry to Catalina, the Palomar Observatory, and of course the famed Del Mar Racetrack.
Since the 1920s, when film stars made Del Mar a playtime destination, it has grown into one of the most beautiful resort communities on the West Coast. San Diego's Gaslamp District, Convention Center, Petco Park, Old Globe Theatre and the Symphony are all situated around San Diego Harbor and Mission Bay. San Diego has many other attractions just a short drive away such as Balboa Park with the Aerospace Museum, Natural History Museum, San Diego Opera and San Diego Symphony. The city's crown jewels, however, are the San Diego Museum of Art, which houses both modern and historical art exhibits, and of course the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World and Legoland. Sports fans also have a number of options with the San Diego Padres at their new downtown baseball stadium, Petco Park, the San Diego Chargers at the Qualcomm Stadium in nearby Mission Valley, and a women's soccer team, the San Diego Spirit.
Del Mar is in the heart of "golfers paradise;" however, the community also encompasses expansive beaches, the Del Mar Race Track and Fair Grounds, art festivals, hot air ballooning and ocean view dining at great restaurants, along with many cultural offerings. Recreational opportunities abound with beautiful beaches, excellent surfing and swimming, shopping at unique boutiques, or hiking and jogging at the world famous Torrey Pines Preserve. Private and resort golf courses include the Del Mar Country Club, Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club, Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, The Bridges Golf & Country Club and The La Costa Golf and Tennis Resort.
